Sounds like a plan? Let’s get started!

But first, let’s talk simplicity.

Is it easy to prepare a Sea Bream?

Is it easy to prepare a sea bream?

Oh absolutely.

The key lies in a handful of quality ingredients:

  • a drizzle of olive oil,
  • zesty lemons,
  • fresh sprigs of parsley,
  • and a dash of salt and pepper.

And, of course, the star of the show—the sea bream itself..

Begin by giving the sea bream a brief soak in cold water for five minutes, enhancing its texture for easier filleting later. I got shown this hack from my favorite fish store back home. And it really makes it so much easier!

Meanwhile, whisk together the olive oil, salt, and pepper to create a flavor-packed marinade. Pat the your fish dry, and with a culinary brushstroke, coat an ovenproof ceramic dish or tray with the tantalizing oil mixture.

Now, the artistry begins.

I could write that you need to make some cuts on each side of the fish, allowing the flavors to penetrate deeply. Insert slices of lemon and sprigs of parsley into the incisions, infusing the sea bream with aromatic goodness. A final brush of olive oil, a crown of lemon slices on top, and into the oven it goes for a mere 20 minutes. Voila! Your beautiful sea bream is ready to steal the spotlight. (Thanks ChatGPT for that genius array of words I would have never come up with by myself)

Or simply put:

Cut 3 times on the skin of your fish on each side using a very sharp knife. Cut the lemon in slices and place them with some parsley inside. Brush the sea bream with the remaining olive oil and add the remaining lemon slices on top. Place in the oven and bake for 20 minutes, and you are ready to enjoy your beautiful sea bream!

What pairs well with the sea bream?

And what complements this culinary masterpiece? The sea bream’s versatility shines, making it a perfect companion to a myriad of sides. Picture it with salted potatoes for a classic touch, or alongside a vibrant kale salad for a health-conscious twist.

Or a lentil salad, packed with flavor and nutrients!!

Or are you feeling a bit traditional? Opt for a Swabian potato salad. Still undecided? Explore my curated selection of favorite salads; there’s bound to be one that speaks to your taste buds.

In the realm of culinary delights, the oven-baked sea bream stands tall as a testament to the beauty of simplicity. Effortless in preparation, yet dazzling in presentation, this recipe is your ticket to an enchanting dining experience.
